SKIN CARE TIPS

COMPREHENSIVE SKIN CARE GUIDE TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE HEALTHY SKIN

soften feetHOW TO NATURALLY SOFTEN DRY, CRACKED FEET

Dry, cracked feet are a nuisance to almost everyone. But you don't have to spend on costly pedicures at the spa or nail salon to rid of this issue. Simply pull out the following common ingredients from your place of storage and welcome beautiful, soft feet in 30 mins or less and for under $10.

This is a 3-step process (foot soak, foot scrub and then foot mask) whose recipe calls for milk, epsom salt, olive oil and shea butter. Milk is an extremely important step in this process because it is rich in Lactic acid. Lactic acid is a mild exfoliator that can be used on skin to remove dead skin cells. Epsom salt are used because the granules are big enough to provide an thorough exfoliating phase. Olive oil is used as the carrier base for the epsom salts as it is thick enough to prevent the salts granules from scratching and irritating skin. Shea butter is a thick moisturizer that soaks into skin to sooth, soften and seal moisture.

What you will need:

Milk
Epsom Salt
Olive Oil
Pumice stone
Shea Butter
Socks

Difficulty: Easy Time Required: 30 minutes

Here's How:
  1. To start with the process of exfoliation, you will need either a small foot spa tub or basin. Fill it with warm water.
  2. Now is the time to add milk to the water. Remember, for every six cups of water that you have put in the tub/basin, add one cup of milk. Milk is imperative in this process because it contains Lactic acid, which is a natural exfoliating and hydrating additive that will lightly exfoliate and soften tough skin.
  3. Place your feet in the tub/basin and let them soak in the water-milk solution for at least 20 minutes. This will allow the milk's lactic acid to soften the skin on your feet.
  4. Once you feel the callous skin loosen at the heels of your feet, scrub bottoms of feet with the pumice stone to rid of loosed dead skin.
  5. Next, take a soft towel and use it to gently pat dry your feet. Thereafter, it is the time to make use of the epsom salt/Olive oil scrub that has been formulated specially for the feet. In a bowl, mix epsom salt and olive oil to create a scrub.
  6. Gently massage the epsom salt/Olive oil scrub into your skin, moving your fingers in a circular motion and paying special attention to the extra-rough spots on the heels and big toes.
  7. After scrubbing for a few minutes, it is the time to rinse your feet with plain water. Again, pat them dry with a soft towel.
  8. Lastly, apply unrefined shea butter on your feet and slip on a pair of socks. This last step willhelp seal in the moisture and keep your feet soft.
